Berrye E. Hinson, resides in Kingstree, SC and is a member of Siloam Baptist Church where Reverend Terry B. Law is the pastor. At Siloam, she is the Church Treasurer, Secretary of Missionary Ministry, President of the Pastorís Aide Ministry, Vice President of the Usherís Ministry, and Church Van Driver.
She graduated from high school in 1965, received a certification as a Nurseís Aide, and received an Associate Degree in Social Work from South Piedmont Community College. She furthered her education at Barber-Scotia College then transferred to Limestone College to obtain her B.S. degree in Liberal Studies and Social Work.
Berrye has worked as a teacherís aide, nurseís aide, and a hospital stock associate in North Carolina before moving to South Carolina. After moving to South Carolina, she has worked as a home health aide before becoming a full time employee of SC Disabilities and Special Needs as an Employment Specialist (1988-2009) then in 2010, she became a Case Manager, a position she still holds. She has received the following awards: Employee of the Year, Supervisor of the Year, Human Service Staff of the year for DDSN-SC, and SC Special Olympic Coach of the Year.
Berrye is a volunteer Independent Voices Self-Advocacy Club Advisor, Advisor for I.M.P.A.C.T., SC Council on Protection and Advocacy County Coordinator and Coach for SC Special Olympic. She feels bless to be the mother of two adult sons, three young adult grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren who reside in Aiken, SC and Mason City, IA.
Berrye states that being a blessing to others makes her happy and she refuses to let anyone steal her GOD given joy.
