Naomi B. Gurley was born in Florence County to the late McFadden (Buck) and Mary Sue Bostick. She has one daughter, Kimberly Nicole and one granddaughter, Alexis Mikaela. She is a 1971 honor graduate of Hannah-Pamplico High School and received credits in Business Administration through classes offered at Wells Fargo Bank.
Naomi is a member of Mt. Zion Chapel Missionary Baptist Church, Pamplico, where Reverend Boyd McDaniels, Jr., is the Pastor. Church affiliations are: Chairperson of Finance Department, Assistant Church Clerk, Director for The Mass Choir, a member of the Senior Missionary, assist with The Youth Tutorial Program, Church Event Committee, volunteer with food distribution with the church Food Pantry and assist with Youth Ministry when needed. She served as the Past Assistant Recording Secretary for the Woman’s Pee Dee District Department.
Naomi retired from Wells Fargo Bank after thirty-seven years. Her community involvement include: member of the Business Advisory Committee at Florence-Darlington Technical College for the past ten years and a volunteer for the “Meals on Wheels” Program for the home bound.
Daily prayer is “Lord keep me humble so that I may be used by you.” Favorite scripture is Proverbs 3:5-6: “Trust in the Lord with all your heart, And lean not on your own understanding; In all your ways acknowledge Him, And He shall direct your path.”
