Rev. Michelle Law-Gordon is the daughter of the late Gladys Coe Law and the late Mr. David Mitchell. She is a 1986 Graduate of Wilson High School; 1992 Honor Graduate of Morris College; and 1998 Graduate of Troy State University with a Master's in Public Administration. Realizing there was a greater call on her life she enrolled in Shaw University and graduated with the Master of Divinity degree in 2006. She completed doctoral coursework at Northeastern Seminary and was awarded the Certificate of Advanced Pastoral Studies in May 2022.  She was awarded the Honorary Doctor of Humanities in 2022 by Agape Institute of Theology.

She accepted Jesus as her personal Lord and Savior and was baptized at New Ebenezer Missionary Baptist Church in 1976 by the late Dr. W. E. Chaney; was licensed to preach the Gospel on May 11, 2008 by Rev. Norman Gamble; and was ordained by the Pee Dee Baptist Association on July 18, 2008. She is cofounder and served as director of the Pee Dee Community Youth Choir, a safe-haven for youth ages 5-18 years old and has been a member of the Florence Community Chorale for 20+ years.

She is a commissioned officer in the United States Air Force, currently serving in the rank of Lieutenant Colonel as I.M.A. to the Wing Chaplain, Shaw Air Force Base, SC.  Some of her military awards and honors include being selected as the 2019 Thoralf T. Theilen, Air Force Reserve Chaplain of the Year; Meritorious Service Medal w/2 oak leaf clusters; Commendation Medal; Air Force Achievement Medal and Humanitarian Service Medal.

She is the first female to be installed as Pastor of a Pee Dee Missionary Baptist Association member church in its 100+ year history and proudly serves as pastor of Open Door Missionary Baptist Church, Florence SC, where she has served since July 21, 2009. She currently serves as Regional Director for the Florence and Williamsburg County member churches of the Pee Dee Missionary Baptist Association.

She is an advocate for Christian Education and has previously served as President, Vice President, Dean and Assistant Dean of the Pee Dee Missionary Baptist Association Christian Education Department. She has completed the National Dean Certification Course through the National Baptist Convention Sunday School Publishing Board, Nashville, TN.  In addition, she has served with the South Carolina Baptist Congress of Christian Education as Co-chair of the Youth/College Division; member of the curriculum committee; and as an instructor/facilitator.

She is a member of the South Carolina Commission on Minority Affairs; Florence and Darlington County Mercy Medical Clinic Board of Directors; The Morning News Faith & Values Board for whom she writes monthly columns; Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc; and Hiram Chapter #181 O.E.S.  She has been recognized by the State of South Carolina, City of Florence, Darlington County and the Florence Morning News for her contributions to youth and her community involvement in the Pee Dee Region.

Her motto is "If I can help somebody as I pass along, then my living shall not be in vain."
