David Johnson is the son of the late David Johnson Sr. and Catherine Cannon Johnson. He is a graduate of Wilson High School, Florence, SC and graduated Magna Cum Laude from Morris College, Sumter, SC, where he received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Christian Education. David also received his Master of Divinity (Biblical Studies) from Regent University, Virginia Beach, VA.
David served in the U.S. Marine Corps from 1969 to 1970 where he fought in the Vietnam War Era. David was employed with Rock Ten (Stone Container) for thirty-seven years until his retirement in 2010.
He is a member of Maxwell Baptist Church of Florence, South Carolina, where he has served as a Deacon since 1982. He is an Adult Sunday School teacher and volunteers for the Meals on Wheels Ministry.
David is a life member of the DAV Florence Chapter.
David is married to Carolyn P. Johnson, and they have four children (one deceased) five grandchildren, and one great grandchild.
