Executive Board
Deacon Nathan J. Phillips is the son of the Late Johnny L. Dowdy, Sr. and Pastor Rebecca Phillips, a native of Paterson, New Jersey.
He is a 1993 graduate of Hartsville High School and furthered his studies of Business Administration at Francis Marion University.
He currently serves at the Kay Branch Missionary Baptist Church in the following capacities: Church Administrator, member of the Board of Deacons, member of the Usher's Ministry, Youth Advisor, Christian Education Advisor, Church Security Team Coordinator, Education Ministry Advisor, Budget Committee, Transportation Ministry Coordinator and Banquet Chairman of the Darlington County Missionary & Educational Baptist Union just to name a few.
He previously served as a Trustee, President of the Mass Choir, Male Chorus member, Radio Ministry Coordinator and Executive Board Member of the Darlington County Missionary & Educational Baptist Union, Hartsville Branch NAACP President.
His civic involvement includes: Executive Board Member of the South Carolina Conference of Branches, NAACP (secretary), Executive Board Member of the Hartsville Branch NAACP (secretary), Hartsville Community Holy Week Services Secretary, Board of Directors member of the Columbia FBI, and FBI Community Liaison.
