Dr. Leonard L. Cain, Vice Moderator

Reverend Dr. Leonard L. Cain is a native of Hartsville, South Carolina and graduated from Hartsville High School. He is also a graduate of the South Carolina Law Enforcement Academy. Dr. Cain received the Bachelor of Arts in Social Studies and Honorary Doctor of Divinity Degrees from Morris College and the Master of Divinity Degree from Samuel Dewitt Proctor School of Theology Virginia Union University.  He has completed a two year residency in Clinical Pastoral Education earning four units of Clinical and Pastoral Care.

Dr. Cain formerly served as president of the Pee Dee District Sunday School Department of the Pee Dee Baptist Association and as youth director for the South Carolina Baptist Congress of Christian Education and Executive Assistant to the President of the SC Baptist Educational and Missionary Convention.

Dr. Cain currently serves as Vice Moderator of the Pee Dee Missionary Baptist Association and former member of the Board of Directors for the Hartsville Family YMCA and the Timmonsville Fatherhood Initiative. He is a former youth instructor (youth division) for the National Baptist Congress of Christian Education and is a member of the Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc.

Dr. Cain is the Pastor of the historical Bethlehem Baptist Church of Timmonsville, SC where he has served for more than 25 years. He is a retired government employee having served as a supervising Clinical Chaplain with the South Carolina Department of Corrections.  And presently works in Pastoral Services for Homestead Hospice.

He has three children and six grandchildren.
