Usher's
Mr. Luke Daniels, Jr., is one of three children born to the late Luke Sr. and Lillie Mae Nettles Daniels. He was born in Timmonsville, SC and both of his siblings, Francenia Daniels and Mildred Daniels Jones are deceased. He was reared by his maternal grandparents, the late Willie and Florie Burrell Nettles.
Luke is a 1965 graduate of Johnson High School and a 1974 graduate of Florence Darlington Technical College, where he received an Associate Degree in Horticulture. He did additional studies at Morris College Extension Program at Trinity Baptist Church, Florence, SC. He is a United States Army Veteran, having served active duty from 1968 to 1970. He retired from the Army Reserve after twenty-two (22) years of service which ranged from 1970 to 1992.
He was employed at NCR Company and Perfection American twenty (20) years. Presently, he is owner and operator of Daniels Landscaping, a highly successful landscaping business throughout the state of SC. Some of his proudest accomplishments have been the landscaping of various churches, commercial buildings, and residences.
Luke is an extremely dedicated member of Mt. Carmel Baptist Church, where he serves as a Trustee and a member of the Men’s Club. He served, untiringly, as President of the Ushers Ministry for thirty-eight (38) years.
Luke’s passion for ushering has been demonstrated beyond the local church. He has conducted numerous ushers’ workshops throughout the United States and has served the Pee Dee Missionary Baptist Association Ushers’ Department as President, Vice President and Treasurer. He is one of the founders of the Pee Dee Missionary Baptist Ushers Youth Retreat and has served as the Treasurer of the Baptist E&M Convention of SC Ushers’ Department. He has served as the Head Marshal of the National Baptist Convention, USA, Inc. from 2010-2015. Since 2020, he has been serving as Vice President of the Southeast Regional Ushers and Nurses Department of the National Baptist Convention, USA, Inc. Presently, he serves as Parliamentarian of the Pee Dee Missionary Baptist Association Ushers’ Department.
Mr. Daniels is the proud father of three amazing sons: Craig (Toni) Wilson, Portia Lynard Daniels, and Jacquard Lukendric Daniels. His beloved grandchildren are Kierrah Lanae Daniels, Portia Lanette Daniels, Malcolm Wilson and Martin Barack Wilson.
