Mrs. Margie W. Goodson, Recording Secretary

Margie is a native of Darlington, SC and is the daughter of the late Henry and Elouise Williams. She is devoted wife of forty-three years to Deacon Carl Goodson and they have two daughters, Tamra and Carlo, a son-in-law, Christopher and three grandchildren, Cai, Cory and Blake.

She is a 1972 graduate of St. John’s High School, holds an Associate Degree in Accounting from Florence Darlington Technical College and a Bachelor of Business Administration, and Master’s Degree from Francis Marion University.

Margie is a member of Round O Missionary Baptist Church of Darlington SC where she serves as Missionary Ministry President as well as a member of the Deaconess, Sanctuary Choir and as coordinator for their Annual Women’s Conference. She has previously served in the Trustee Ministry, as a Sunday School Teacher and as a member of the Ushers Ministry.

For the past two years, she has had the pleasure of serving as Assistant Recording Secretary of Cluster Three of the Woman’s Pee Dee District Department.

Margie has served the State of South Carolina for the past twenty-seven years, three of those years with the Department of Revenue as an Auditor and the remainder with the Department of Social Service as a Program Coordinator-Work Force Consultant. She retired in January 2020.

Her service to the church, the community, Cluster Three and the Woman’s Department have been done because of her love of the fellowship of her Sisters and Brothers in Christ and for the cause of Christ.  She believes that where there is unity there is strength and that the willingness of one to give of their time, tithe and talent makes advancing the Kingdom of God a reality.

One of her favorite scriptures is Psalm 139:14 “I will praise thee; for I am fearfully and wonderfully made: marvelous are thy works, and that my soul knoweth right well.”
