Ms. Cynthia Pettis, Assistant Recording Secretary

Cynthia is first and foremost a child of God and strives to live her life as such.

She is a widow and the mother of three daughters, and her heart belongs to ten grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

Ms. Graham-Pettis is a member of Majority Missionary Baptist Church, where the Pastor is, the Reverend Dr. Alfonso Porter.  She is most willing to serve wherever she is asked and is officially a member of the Senior Missionary serving as the Communications Secretary. She is responsible for the planning and distribution of care packages to the MMBC college students. This sister is also a member of the Sanctuary Choir, teaches Sunday School, and fills in when needed for Bible Study.

Cynthia attended public schools in Belleville and Newark, NJ. Upon graduation from Weequahic High School, she attended Rutgers University. Many years later, she obtained her B.S. in Human Services from Gardner-Webb University, Boiling Springs, NC.

After relocating to South Carolina in 2006, she was employed by Florence County Department of Social Services SNAP in 2007, retiring in 2014.  During retirement she has been busy serving on the aforementioned auxiliaries, working on the housekeeping team for the church and loving on grandchildren.

Her passions are baking, studying (especially the Word of God) and sharing knowledge with others. She often says, “no one is all good, and no one is all bad.”

Favorite Bible verse, Isaiah 40:31, “But they that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary, and they shall walk and not faint.”
