Woman's Pee Dee District Department
Rev. Laura A. Preston is a member of Majority Missionary Baptist Church where Dr. Alfonso Porter is the Pastor. She serves as the Associate to the Pastor, President of the Senior Missionary, and Adult Bible Study Teacher. A member of District 9 Prince Hall Grand Chapter Order of the Eastern Star and Rite of Adoption for the State of South Carolina and Jurisdiction where she serves as the Immediate Past Grand Supervising Deputy and is a Past Matron of Snowhill Chapter #312. A member of Ruth E. Jordan Tent # 219 United Order of Tents Southern District #4 Florence District and serves as The United Order of Tent State Outside Tiler, a member of Florence Chapter Top Ladies of Distinction, Inc., a member of the Florence Chapter of the National Council of Negro Women and a member of Bejilah Court #177.
She is a graduate of Wilson High School; she attended Florence-Darlington Technical College where she majored in Secretarial Science, Coker College, where she majored in Psychology with a minor in Business. She is presently attending Grand Canyon University, where she is pursuing her Master’s Degree in Divinity and Christian Counseling.
Rev. Preston accepted her calling into the Ministry in 2011 and preached her initial sermon in July 2011. She was licensed to preach the Gospel by Rev. Shawn Johnson, Past Pastor of New Providence Baptist Church. She received her Bachelor of Divinity Degree from The International Overcoming College of Religion. She was ordained at Majority Missionary Baptist Church by Rev. Dr. Alphonso Porter and Past Moderator, Rev. Dr. Waymon Mumford of the Pee Dee Missionary Baptist Association, on June 6, 2021.
Rev. Preston is co-owner of C & L Preston Trucking, LLC. She retired from Bell South/AT&T in 2008 and worked at Blue Cross Blue Shield. She enjoys spending time with her grandchildren and traveling. She enjoys working in the community, motivational speaking/workshops, coordinating weddings, and working with women to empower them to be the best at any endeavors they may pursue.
She is a native of Florence, South Carolina and is married to Clarence L. Preston, Jr. and they are the proud parents of two children; Brandon D. Williams and Jamecca W. (Jason) English. She also has four adorable grandchildren; Amari, Christian, Zoe’ and Chase.
Her favorite passage of Scripture is Psalm 91. She truly loves the Lord, preaching the Gospel of Jesus Christ and being used by Him for Kingdom Building.
